8 Can’t-Miss Keynotes at the Consumer Experience & Digital Health Forum

Renowned experts, visionary innovators, and health care’s top digital minds will discuss innovative technologies and data-driven solutions that are shaping the future of health — as hundreds of members of the health care industry come together in Nashville, Tennessee, September 13-14 for AHIP’s 2023 Consumer Experience & Digital Health Forum.

The forum's more than 40 sessions feature more than 100 of the top industry thought leaders and experts who will share unique insights from their work. Plus, with an exhibit hall featuring dozens of exhibitors and solution providers, CDF 2023 will ensure that attendees stay ahead of the curve.

Here’s what you need to know:

On artificial intelligence:

  • Dr. John Brownstein, CIO of Boston Children's Hospital and professor at Harvard Medical School; Dr. John D. Halamka, President of the Mayo Clinic Platform; and Kristin Myers, EVP, Chief Digital and Information Officer and Dean for Digital and Information Technology at Mount Sinai Health System, are just a few of the six experts who will kick off the event with a timely discussion on the impact of generative artificial intelligence (AI) on health care.

On actionable insights:

  • Chris Carmody, CTO and SVP at UPMC; Ariele Faber, Chief Experience Officer of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS); and Jay Sivasailam, EVP and Chief Growth Officer of UCare, will join health economist and blogger Jane Sarasohn-Kahn to share best practices for digital health to advance frictionless care.

On digital solutions for equitable care:

  • Dr. Alice Hm Chen, Chief Health Officer of Centene Corp.; Dr. Erich S. Huang, Head of Clinical Informatics, Verily Life Services; Timshel Tarbet; Chief Equity Officer of Providence Health Plan; Dr. Kelli Tice, Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Health Equity Officer at GuideWell and Florida Blue; and Dr. LaShawn McIver, Chief Health Equity Officer at AHIP, will share their perspectives on leveraging digital health to advance health equity.

On consumer experience:

  • Wednesday’s programming concludes with a session on transforming consumer experience in health care featuring Matt Eyles, President and CEO of AHIP; David Holmberg, President and CEO of Highmark Health; and Dawn Maroney, President of Markets at Alignment Health and CEO, Alignment Health Plan.

On defining and delivering holistic health:

  • Dr. Thomas Insel, neuroscientist and psychiatrist, and Marjorie Morrison, CEO and Co-Founder of Psych Hub, take to the main stage Thursday morning to discuss why delivering holistic health is the future of well-being.

On the health information superhighway:

  • Danielle Lloyd, AHIP’s SVP of Private Market Innovations and Quality Initiatives, will moderate a deep-dive discussion on the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA) with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Dr. Micky Tripathi, 1upHealth Chief Strategy Officer and former National Coordinator at Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Don Rucker, and Guidewell and Florida Blue’s Assistant General Counsel Tanya Burgess.

On beating data bias:

  • Finally, Thursday’s final keynote brings together five experts to discuss how to ensure responsible use of AI and control for bias while embracing the promise of the technology. Greg Singleton, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), will join Kaiser Permanente Foundation EVP & CIO Dr. Edward Lee; Salesforce Chief Health Officer Dr. Fatima Paruk; and attorney Alya Sulaiman with McDermott Will & Emery LLP in this session moderated by AHIP’s SVP of Private Market Innovations & Quality Initiatives Danielle Lloyd.
