On June 3, 2019, ÐÜèÊÓƵsubmitted comments in response to proposed rules issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) meant to support the seamless and secure access, exchange, and use of electronic health information. We express support for the Administration’s goal of providing patients access to their health information to promote better choices about care and treatment. We also recommend that the rules maintain and enhance patient protections, minimize administrative burdens, and establish clear data standards and operational protocols with reasonable implementation timeframes.
